About the blog

A good friend suggested that I get a blog to promote my writing skills. I agreed and she helped me get started. Shortly after, I did a quick Google search for what other copywriters’ websites look like. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I soon realized that it followed a very formulaic structure: a home page expressing how wonderful the writer is (lots of boldface and bullets), a list of testimonials, writing samples and specific services. The format is very business oriented and freaked me out a bit.

Instead of selling how wonderful I am at writing, I figure why not create a blog where the posts actually demonstrate my writing skills on a continual basis? So I give myself “assignments” that I post, similar to those that would be assigned to a copywriter. But they’re fake. Totally. Sometimes humourous and other times just silly. We’ll see how long I can keep this up. Wish me luck.

Any “assignment” suggestions are welcomed with opened arms, shoot them my way
