FREEWRITE EXERCISE:

fruit roll up

prepackages snacks

unzip the wrapper

of a colourful black bag of death

to the fruit

consume the corpse

crunch on preservatives

then pop it in your kid’s

lunch bag

and expect them to be

alert in class —

attention shattered like

glass.

sugar is mischief’s

secret lover.
