Acoustic Flow Workshops + Showcase

May 14, 2014

Today is the last Acoustic Flow Workshop, an initiative that the Womyn of Indigo lead every Wednesday since March 26th. At Ellington’s young women from ages 11 to 19 come together and learn to play instruments, write music and practice performing as they create their own original works.

I’ve been beyond blessed to be part of this powerful series of workshops as I’ve not only strengthened my facilitation skills but I’ve attacked my piano skills, tested my knowledge of music and fused poetry into these lessons every chance we get.

Please join us May 31st as the these amazing young women share the songs they’ve created in the workshops to the public at the first ever ACOUSTIC FLOW SHOWCASE! Cover is by donation (suggested $10) and all the proceeds go towards continuing these workshops for young women interested in live music and poetry. Show’s at Ellington’s and starts at 6pm sharp!

If you want to support local mentorship and facilitation, come out and see what these young woman got going on! You won’t be disappointed, I guarantee it!

Over and out!
